Spinal Cord Neurorehabilitation
The Neurorehabilitation Program for Spinal Cord Injury admits adults with congenital or acquired spinal cord injuries. The acquired injuries may be of a traumatic or non-traumatic nature.
Among the causes of traumatic injuries are traffic accidents, falls, dives, and firearms and other weapons. Non-traumatic injuries are those caused by tumors, infections, arteriovenous malformations, and degenerative diseases.
The rehabilitation programs are individualized and organized in a dynamic and contextualized manner, according to each patient’s functional recovery potential, and can be conducted on an outpatient or inpatient basis.
It is important that the patients be clinically stable in order to participate in the prescribed rehabilitation activities.
The specialty of Spinal Cord Neurorehabilitation is available in the Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and São Luís facilities.
